Week 32 Bump Recap

Yeah, I meant to have a few more project updates last week for you guys, but life got a little busy and I didn’t get them finished and posted.  But I do have another pregnancy update for you!

I’m at the end of my 32nd week now, and so I’m really starting to feel how close I am to the end of this pregnancy and getting to meet Baby Girl! The nursery is mostly finished, just need to hang the last of her pictures, the sheets and some clothes are washed and ready for her so we are pretty much physically ready! Now we just have to get there mentally! (just kidding… mostly) I have a little bit more travel for work in the next week, so I’m hoping for the next weeks to be uneventful and the travel to go smoothly!

week32 Baby’s Size: Baby girl is the size of a pineapple, the doctor says she is right on track so around 4lbs this week.

Baby’s Progress: Nothing much has changed in baby girls progress over the last week, except that I can tell she is getting bigger and starting to run out of space.  Her movements are less rolling around like they have been the last few weeks and more localized and intense! But I do get to feel her move all the time, which is still really fun, and  Reese has gotten to feel her quite a bit too!

Weight Gain: I gained about a half pound last week… so all together I’m about 14 lbs up from where I started and I have 7 weeks to go.

Sleep: I have been having pretty crazy dreams this week and getting up pretty regularly to go to the bathroom… so my sleeping isn’t always so great, but I can still fall asleep and don’t have a problem going back to sleep if I wake up, so I think it could be worse!

Milestones: Reese and I had a whole weekend of pretty much nothing on the schedule, so we were lazy, went out to dinner and breakfast and just generally spent time together.  Rumor has it that will be harder with an infant, so we are trying to soak up the us time before it becomes more scarce!

Favorite clothing item of the week: I’m not sure it counts as a favorite, but one of my favorite tunics from pre-pregnancy still fits and looks cute! I’m not sure its a good sign that I’m so huge and some of my pre-pregnancy things fit so well, but since it means I have a better wardrobe without buying so much pregnancy wear!

Symptoms: Oooh, breathing is harder, walking is harder and all of a sudden I feel kind of huge! I told my husband this week that I feel like the stay puff marshmellow man.  But since I’ve escaped some of the worst of the 3rd trimester symptoms, I’m going to be grateful and not complain.

Workout: Due to massive amounts of rain and generally feeling like I can’t breathe most of the time… workouts haven’t really been happening at all.

Baby’s Size: Baby girl is the size of a Jicama… whatever that is! She is about 3 lbs (theoretically) and fattening up every day!

Baby’s Progress: All her senses are working, her body is gaining fat and her skin is becoming less translucent.  She can also suck her thumb, move her arms and legs (which trust me she is doing a lot of!)

Weight Gain: The weight gain is speeding up a bit, I gained about 1.5 lbs last week, and I feel like every morning that I get on the scale it goes up and up!

Sleep: I don’t know where I would be without my pregnancy pillow.  At the beginning of the pregnancy I couldn’t imagine needing it to sleep, but as it gets harder and harder to roll over in the middle of the night, I appreciate the pillow more and more!

Milestones: I can’t think of any big milestones this week, mostly just plugging along getting closer and closer to her arrival!

Favorite clothing item of the week: My maxi skirt from old navy has become such a staple in my wardrobe that I’m pretty sure a few people think its the only thing I can still wear!

Symptoms: My only major symptom is that I can’t breathe anymore!

Workout: I finished a 5K on saturday morning! For the last three years my husband and I have participated in a 5K at our church that benefits the food pantry, including running it the morning of our wedding! So now we celebrate by running it every year.  Although for obvious reasons, I didn’t run it, I walked it with a group of friends and their kiddos.  It was such a fun time and I liked starting the day out with some exercise.

Maternity Photos

Although I’ve been mostly faithful about taking my weekly bump pictures, I wanted to get some professional photos taken of my husband and I during this phase of our lives! Most days I feel like this whole pregnancy thing is a really cool experience and I know that we won’t be just the two of us for much longer, so I wanted to capture that! (Plus how often do you get to take pictures without having to worry about sucking it in?!) Anyway, after doing some research it seems like 30-34 weeks is a pretty common time to get pictures taken (definitely pregnant, not so pregnant that you can’t move) and I was right at 30 weeks in these pictures.

We have a good friend in our small group from church who is a photographer, so she and her husband met us out at Arbor Hills, a local nature preserve to take the photos around sundown one day.  I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the way the pictures turned out!! Especially since I didn’t really take the time I should have to plan out our outfits! Alicia and I had talked previously and I had shown her some maternity photos that I had pinned on the ever-inspiring Pinterest, so we were on the same page of what I was looking for.  She is crazy talented, check out her website: Alicia Skinner Photography.  She will also be taking some photos of Baby Girl once she arrives, so I can’t wait to see how those turn out!

Anyway, on with the good stuff:

I wore two different outfits, the first is a regular outfit for me.  I’ve been loving the maxi skirt and jean jacket combo… comfortable and cute too!

This black dress has also been a staple for me during pregnancy, and I love the way the coral necklace adds a pop of color.   Maternity Photo Shoot

But the real show stopper in these pictures are the flowers! How pretty are the wildflowers in Texas right now?!  You’d never know you were in the middle of a pretty big suburb in these photos!

I have a very sassy look on my face in this next picture, but I love the way it turned out!

We are so excited for this little girl to make her appearance, and I was so happy to get to capture this glimpse of time! Thanks Alicia for all the wonderful photos!!
